ABOUT

I am a UKCP registered existential psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor.

Psychotherapy and counselling can help when you are facing difficulties and challenges in your life. I provide a safe, supportive, engaging space where we can work together to better understand the things that are troubling you and see if you can make changes or develop new ways of thinking and feeling about things.

I have worked extensively with people dealing with anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma. I have particular experience working with cancer patients and their friends and family and people suffering from mental health problems.

I have worked for the NHS in GP and hospital settings, for Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now, for Mind in Hackney and Mind in Croydon, and in private practice.

Existential psychotherapy is a way of practising psychotherapy that I like because of the emphasis it places on possibility, freedom and choice.

I work with clients to help them to develop a deeper and richer understanding of their world. There is a focus on the experience of life as opposed to just the contents of it.

On my part it requires a commitment to self-exploration and critical engagement with self in order for me to able to more fully meet the person who arrives for therapy.

I offer supervision drawing on my clinical, managerial and academic experience.

TRAINING

I undertook my qualifying training at Regent’s University in London, UK.

After gaining my Foundation Certificate, I engaged in an integrative Post-Graduate Diploma covering the three main schools of psychotherapeutic thought: Psychodynamic, Existential and Person Centred / Humanistic.

I completed my training and gained UKCP accreditation through an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy, allowing me to focus on the exploration of existential philosophy and its application to psychotherapy.

I received my Masters after undertaking research on psychotherapists’ experiences of working from home at Leeds Beckett University.

I gained my clinical experience working at Balham Community Counselling Service, a low cost service based in south London.

I undertook a professional training in supervision, group work and leadership & management at NSPC, London.

I have completed further training in psychosexual therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and coaching.

I have extensive experience of clinical management and supervision from my time working at Mind in The City, Hackney and Waltham Forest.

SESSIONS

I offer weekly psychotherapy and counselling sessions costing £60 each. Sessions last for 50 minutes.

I offer sessions online over Zoom and also work from London Bridge, SE1 and Coulsdon, CR5.

I can offer a free initial consultation which lasts around 30 minutes. This gives me an opportunity to tell you a bit about myself and how I work, allows you to asks any questions you might have about me and psychotherapy and counselling more broadly, and allows the two of us to see if we would be a good match to work together.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me using the form below.
